Some mail is meant to be thrown away, and some is meant to be kept. This is the stock for the second kind. 18pt board with lamination bonded across the full face has a heft and a surface quality that makes the recipient hesitate before binning it — and hesitation is the whole game in direct mail.
Choose silk matte lamination for a soft, low-sheen finish that makes photography look editorial and gives dark colours real depth, or gloss lamination for a mirror-bright surface that makes product shots and bold graphics jump. Either way the film seals the card against moisture and handling, so it survives a wet letterbox, a tote bag and a month on a fridge door without curling or scuffing.
Because it costs more per piece than 16pt, this is not the stock for a 5,000-piece cold drop. It is the stock for mail that is going to people who already matter: VIP customers, lapsed high-value accounts, a lookbook card for a wholesale list, an invitation to something you actually want people at. Spend the money on fewer, better-targeted pieces.
